Church Street Neighbourhood Management is supported by a small staff team who are responsible for making sure the aims of local people set out in the Delivery Plan are delivered. The team work closely both with local people and the organisations which have the major resources to achieve change (for example, council, police, primary care trust). The work is overseen by the Neighbourhood Management Board and falls into three broad categories:

'My job is to manage the team and support the Management Board to make sure we are delivering positive change and that we have the infrastructure to keep going. I also lead our work on crime and nuisance.'

'I am responsible for the economic development of the neighbourhood, focusing particularly on Church Street Market. I am trying to develop the commercial offer of the street - shops and stalls - so that local people are well served and that visitors want to come to the street.'

'My role is to ensure that people and organisations in the neighbourhood know what is happening. I am also responsible for delivering a programme of community events and activities that promote neighbourliness and understanding.'

'I am known as the Walker-Talker and my job is to meet and talk to as many local people as possible, explain the work of Neighbourhood Management and encourage them to get involved. I also liaise closely with our crime and nuisance partners such as the police and the City Guardians.'

'I am responsible for making sure the work of the team is based on fact, not fiction. I maintain a detailed baseline of statistics that evidence the problems of the neighbourhood and how the team is tackling them.'

'I manage our two offices, at 88 Church Street and 80a Church Street, which we share with our partners the Safer Neighbourhoods Police and the City Guardians. I also manage our finances and act as PA to the Neighbourhood Manager.'
